What is Autocharge and how does it work?
With Autocharge, you can connect your EV to your ChargeNet account and allow that EV to start charging automatically when you plug into a compatible ChargeNet fast charger.
When a compatible EV is plugged into a charger that supports the technology, ChargeNet receives the cars identifier from the EV and then checks if it’s connected to a ChargeNet account. If it is, we will start the session on the account automatically. If not, you can start the session as usual with an RFID or through the app.
To protect you, we have implemented strong rules that need to be fulfilled before the MAC address of a car can be linked to an account to enable Autocharge. We only allow a user to link Autocharge on vehicles we have identified should be compatible and unique to you. During the setup process, we ask you to confirm which vehicle started a session and where it was charged so everything links correctly. To avoid incorrect billing, please ensure you link the right vehicle to Autocharge and remove the vehicle from your account if you sell the car.
To get started, charge with us a few times and the app will prompt you to set up Autocharge if we detect that your EV is compatible. Once you have set Autocharge up, just plug in and start charging automatically.
