Usually this is because the car batteries are no longer in optimal condition. There are other causes, such as temperature extremes causing inefficient charging.

Some of the Tritium chargers will only allow you to charge to 95% as the speed of charging slows as the batteries fill. Once a battery reaches 80%, the speed of charging slows significantly. As the last 5% is so slow to deliver, we do not offer it as an option.
